Manny Pacquiao and Buakaw Banchamek. Confirmed for 2024

Manny Pacquiao and Buakaw Banchamek, two legendary fighters from the worlds of boxing and Muay Thai, are set to face off in an exhibition fight scheduled for January 2024. Despite both fighters being past their prime, the matchup is being hyped as a super-fight.

During a press conference in Thailand, Pacquiao confirmed that the bout would offer extended breaks between rounds, with three minutes of action followed by two minutes of rest, instead of the usual one minute.

Pacquiao expressed his dedication to providing an exciting show for the fans, promising to do his best in the ring. The event, titled 'The Match of Legends,' was organized after initial talks of Pacquiao returning to professional boxing, but this exhibition fight will now be his last.

The rules for the match stipulate six rounds of three minutes each, with a two-minute break between rounds. The fight will be contested at 70 kilograms (155 pounds).

Buakaw's purse for the match is set at 10 million Baht (approximately 300,000 USD), a substantial increase from his typical earnings for a professional fight. Although Pacquiao's purse was not mentioned, it is expected to be in the millions of US dollars.

Vinij Lertratanachai, the CEO of Fresh Air Festival Co. Ltd and one of the promoters, expressed his excitement about the historic event, branding it a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity not to be missed.

When the fight takes place, Manny Pacquiao will be one month into his 45th year, while Buakaw will be four years younger. Fans around the world eagerly anticipate this extraordinary clash of two combat sports icons.

As the date approaches, the excitement surrounding this match of legends continues to build.

The event will be proudly sponsored by Super Export Shop and Blegend, promoter -  Mr. Sasan Ghosairi.
